This week I started working on the final section of the game. Now that the first level of the game is more or less done (barring some necessary improvements for the art), I'm now doing the final part of the game. That way, I can easily scale the game by making more or less levels between the two I've made already. I started by making a section right before the final boss where the player gets a moment to say goodbye to the characters they've recruited on their way. Click 'Read more' below to read more about the code regarding the conversations. SayonaraIt's kind of surprising that I once again start a new section of the game by adding story. Well, maybe not. There's 20 total dialogues in this section: two for each character. Depending on whether or not you've completed a character's personal quest, you'll get a different set of dialogue. The first script can be used separately to give a character a second set of dialogue. The second script checks the quest progression handler to see whether or not the specified character's personal quest has been completed. In the interest of keeping the amount of work in a week, I also did some work on the art. Although again, I'll have to come back to it to later. At this point, I'm gonna need several sprint just for better art.
Honestly, this is really it for this week. On top of code and art I had to write dialogues: about 20. I'm not completely done yet, either. To compare, the last time I did something similar was with the Wishfire, where I already had most of the art, and only had to write 7 dialogues. Next week I want to do the lead-up to the final boss, and the choice you get to lead to slightly different endings.
